The 2019 Opus One OWC6 (6 × 0.75L) ranks among the very best California wines in the world. Opus One is the result of the legendary collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, combining the elegance of Bordeaux with the power and richness of Napa Valley. The 2019 vintage is celebrated for its exceptional balance, aromatic intensity, and refined structure. The long growing season produced perfectly ripe grapes with great concentration and freshness. The wine develops impressive complexity and has exceptional aging potential.
The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black cherries, blueberries, violets, graphite, cedar, dark chocolate, espresso, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is rich and velvety smooth with perfectly integrated tannins, lively acidity, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about two hours in advance. Delicious with grilled beef, lamb, game, veal, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
