The story behind porto
Porto, or port wine, originated in the 17th century in the beautiful Douro Valley in northern Portugal. When English merchants looked for alternatives to French wines, they discovered the rich, full-bodied wines of this region. To extend their shelf life during transport to England, they added a dash of brandy during the fermentation process. This created a fortified wine with a distinctive sweet and full-bodied character: port.
Since then, port has become a globally beloved wine, known for its complexity, storage potential and variety of styles - from ruby and tawny to vintage and white port. What once began as a practical solution grew into an age-old tradition with refined flavors and rich stories in every bottle.

The passion behind Port2Port dates back more than thirty years. What began with a few special bottles has grown over the years into an exceptional collection, with a strong focus on Vintage Port, exceptional vintages, and renowned port houses.

In addition to port, the wine collection also grew, featuring carefully selected wines from renowned wine regions and exceptional producers. Today, at Port2Port, you’ll find both recent wines and older vintages, as well as special bottles for enthusiasts and collectors.
A family story that continues
Port2Port grew out of Kim Gastmans’ passion and life’s work. Today, his work is carried on by Team Port2Port, which includes his children. With the same love for exceptional port and wine, we continue to expand the collection and are happy to share that passion with other enthusiasts.
