2015 Château Rieussec: a sweet Premier Cru Classé
The 2015 Château Rieussec is a prestigious dessert wine from Sauternes. Château Rieussec was classified as a Premier Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux classification and is one of the appellation’s leading producers.
The wine owes its character to grapes that, under the right conditions, are affected by noble rot. This results in a highly concentrated must with intense aromas and natural sweetness. The 2015 vintage combines this richness with sufficient freshness and structure, allowing the wine to age beautifully in the bottle.
Aroma & taste
Rich aromas of apricot, peach, candied citrus, honey, and tropical fruit are complemented by vanilla, saffron, and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, with a lovely, fresh acidity that balances the sweetness. The finish is long, rich, and layered.
Serving & foodpairing
Serve at around 10–12°C. Excellent with foie gras, blue cheese, and desserts featuring apricot, peach, or citrus. Thanks to its balance and complexity, Château Rieussec is also excellent when served on its own.
