The 2014 Viña Leizaola El Sacramento comes from a historic vineyard in Rioja Alavesa and is one of the region’s most distinctive terroir wines. The combination of old vines, limestone-rich soils, and a meticulous winemaking process results in a Rioja with exceptional elegance and depth.
The 2014 vintage produced grapes of excellent quality, with a beautiful balance between ripe fruit, fresh acidity, and refined tannins. After aging in French oak barrels, the wine develops a complex aromatic profile and a long, mineral finish.
The wine opens with aromas of black cherries, red plums, cassis, violets, cedarwood, tobacco, cocoa, Mediterranean herbs, and delicate spices. On the palate, it is elegant and powerful, with silky-smooth tannins, lively freshness, and a long, mineral finish.
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about one hour in advance. Delicious with grilled beef, lamb, game, Iberian pork, mushrooms, and aged Manchego.
