The 2011 Dow's Vintage Port is among the absolute best of modern Douro. The legendary 2011 vintage produced perfectly balanced vintage ports with enormous concentration, structure and storage potential. Dow's is known for its drier and powerful style, combined with great elegance.
In the glass, this port shows a deep, almost opaque ruby color. The nose is intense and refined with aromas of blackcurrants, plums, violets, dark chocolate and subtle spices. In the mouth powerful and concentrated, with firm tannins, fresh acids and an exceptionally long finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with blue-veined cheeses, chocolate desserts or as an exclusive finale to a dinner party.
2011 is considered one of the greatest vintage years of recent decades in the Douro. Dow's created a monumental vintage port with tremendous precision, elegance and aging potential that will continue to develop for decades to come.
