The 2018 Château Saint-Georges Côte Pavie Magnum (1.5L) is an elegant Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from the limestone and clay soils of one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious wine regions. The excellent 2018 vintage produced perfectly ripe grapes, resulting in a wine with deep concentration, velvety tannins, and impressive aromatic richness. In Magnum format, this wine develops even more slowly and harmoniously.
This blend of primarily Merlot and Cabernet Franc produces a classic Saint-Émilion in which ripe fruit, freshness, and minerality are perfectly balanced. Thanks to the larger bottle size, the wine stays youthful longer and develops additional finesse and complexity as it ages in the bottle. This makes the Magnum particularly popular among wine enthusiasts and collectors.
The nose opens with aromas of black cherries, cassis, plums, violets, graphite, cedarwood, tobacco, and subtle spices. On the palate, the wine is rich and harmonious, with ripe tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral finish where fruit and elegance come together beautifully.
A 1.5-liter Magnum matures more slowly than a standard bottle, allowing the wine to retain its freshness longer and develop additional complexity. As a result, the Magnum size is often considered the ideal size for long-term cellar aging.
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about an hour and a half in advance. Delicious with grilled beef, lamb, duck, game, mushrooms, and aged cheeses.
The 2018 Château Saint-Georges Côte Pavie Magnum has excellent aging potential of more than twenty years and will continue to develop slowly over time.
