2017 Prunotto Bussia Barolo DOCG from Piedmont
An iconic Barolo cru from the famous Bussia vineyard
The 2017 Prunotto Bussia Barolo DOCG comes from the legendary Bussia cru in Monforte d’Alba, one of Barolo’s most prestigious vineyards. Prunotto Winery, part of the Antinori Group, combines traditional Barolo elegance with modern precision. The 2017 vintage produced a powerful yet refined wine with impressive concentration and great aging potential.
The wine is made exclusively from Nebbiolo and ages for several years in large oak barrels. This results in a complex Barolo in which ripe red fruit, floral aromas, spiciness, and minerality come together perfectly. The Bussia vineyard is known for wines with structure, finesse, and exceptional aging potential.
Aroma & taste
The wine opens with aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petals, violets, orange peel, licorice, truffle, tar, and delicate spices. On the palate, it is powerful and elegant, with refined tannins, lively acidity, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
Serving & foodpairing
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine about two hours in advance. Delicious with beef, game, lamb, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged hard cheeses.
