The 2016 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Matarocchio Bolgheri Superiore DOC ranks among the absolute elite of the international wine world. The legendary 2016 vintage is considered one of the greatest harvests ever in Bolgheri. Thanks to perfect weather conditions, the grapes developed exceptional aromatic intensity, refined structure, and impressive freshness. This results in a wine with tremendous depth, perfect balance, and an exceptionally long aging potential.
The nose is intense and layered, with aromas of cassis, black currants, violets, graphite, cedarwood, cigar box, dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs, and balsamic vinegar. On the palate, it is powerful yet exceptionally refined, with silky-smooth tannins, impressive minerality, and an endlessly elegant finish.
The original wooden case containing three bottles is highly sought after by collectors. It provides optimal protection during storage and enhances the collectible value of this extremely rare wine.
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine at least two to three hours in advance. Perfect with wagyu, Florentine bistecca, lamb, game dishes, truffle dishes, and premium aged cheeses.
