The 2015 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Matarocchio Bolgheri Superiore DOC Magnum (1.5L) ranks among the absolute elite of the Italian wine world. Matarocchio is Tenuta Guado al Tasso’s rarest and most prestigious wine and is produced exclusively in exceptional vintages. Sourced from a small plot in Bolgheri and made almost entirely from Cabernet Franc, this wine represents the highest level of craftsmanship that Marchesi Antinori has to offer.
The exceptional 2015 vintage is considered one of the best in Bolgheri in recent decades. Perfect ripening conditions yielded grapes with impressive aromatic intensity, velvety tannins, and exceptional freshness. The Magnum format also ensures a slower and more harmonious aging process, allowing the wine to develop even greater complexity and elegance.
The nose is intense and layered, with aromas of cassis, black currants, violets, graphite, cedarwood, cigar box, dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle balsamic notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet perfectly refined, with exceptional structure, silky-smooth tannins, and an endless mineral finish.
A 1.5-liter Magnum provides ideal conditions for slow and steady aging. As a result, the wine retains its freshness longer and develops even greater complexity. Magnum bottles are also among the most sought-after sizes among collectors and investors.
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine at least two to three hours in advance. Perfect with Florentine bistecca, Wagyu, lamb, game dishes, truffle-based dishes, and premium aged cheeses.
