The 2014 Torres Gran Coronas Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva is one of Familia Torres’s best-known red wines. Since its introduction in the 1970s, Gran Coronas has been one of the Penedès region’s flagship wines, combining international grape varieties with Spanish winemaking tradition. The 2014 vintage produces an elegant and perfectly developed wine with great depth and finesse.
This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo aged for twelve months in French oak barrels and then continued to age in the bottle. The result is a harmonious wine with ripe dark fruit, refined spice, and a beautiful balance between power and elegance.
The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black cherries, plums, vanilla, cedar, cocoa, tobacco, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, refined finish.
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about thirty to sixty minutes beforehand. Delicious with grilled beef, lamb, Iberian pork, stews, and aged Manchego.
The 2014 Torres Gran Coronas Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva has an aging potential of fifteen to twenty years.
