2014 Domaine d’Eugénie Grands Échezeaux Grand Cru OWC6
The 2014 Domaine d’Eugénie Grands Échezeaux Grand Cru OWC6 (6 × 0.75L) ranks among the very best of Burgundy. Domaine d’Eugénie produces exceptionally refined Pinot Noirs in which elegance, terroir expression, and aging potential take center stage. The original wooden case containing six bottles enhances the authenticity and makes this edition particularly attractive to collectors and investors.
Grands Échezeaux Grand Cru is one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. The 2014 vintage is celebrated for its refinement, lively freshness, and great aromatic precision. The wine combines ripe red fruit with mineral tension and an exceptionally long finish.
Aroma & taste
The wine opens with aromas of wild cherries, raspberries, red berries, violets, rose petals, forest floor, delicate herbs, and subtle oak notes. On the palate, it is refined and harmonious, with silky-smooth tannins, lively acidity, and an impressively long, mineral finish.
The Story of the Class of 2014
The 2014 harvest followed an unpredictable season in Burgundy, but September brought more favorable conditions. For Pinot Noir, it was important to choose the right time to harvest: fruit that was sufficiently ripe, without losing its fresh vibrancy.
Serving & foodpairing
Serve at 15–16°C and decant the wine about one hour in advance. Perfect with veal, duck, pigeon, game birds, truffle dishes, mushrooms, and refined French cuisine.
The story behind the bottle
The story of Domaine d’Eugénie began in 2006, when François Pinault acquired the former Domaine René Engel in Vosne-Romanée. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for a historic Burgundian wine estate. The Grands Échezeaux vineyard is located in the Côte de Nuits, adjacent to the famous Échezeaux, but constitutes a separate Grand Cru appellation. The wine is made from Pinot Noir. The 2014 vintage demonstrates how the same exceptional terroir can express itself under different weather conditions. The original wooden case contains six bottles from the same vintage.
