The 2012 Domaine de Courcel Les Croix Noires comes from one of Pommard’s most respected producers. Domaine de Courcel is known for its elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noirs that combine finesse with impressive aging potential. The Premier Cru vineyard Les Croix Noires produces wines with depth, structure, and a distinct mineral character.
The 2012 vintage produced exceptionally ripe grapes with a beautiful balance between concentration and freshness. Thanks to careful winemaking and extended aging, this Pinot Noir develops complex aromas and a refined structure that are characteristic of Pommard’s finest Premier Crus.
On the nose, aromas of red cherries, raspberries, wild strawberries, violets, forest floor, spices, and subtle woody notes come together. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral finish.
Serve at 15–16°C and decant the wine about one hour in advance. Delicious with veal, poultry, duck, mushrooms, game birds, and soft cheeses.
The 2012 Domaine de Courcel Les Croix Noires has excellent aging potential of twenty years or more and develops additional complexity over the years.
