2009 Gratavinum GV5 from Priorat
A powerful and elegant top-quality wine from the heart of Priorat
The 2009 Gratavinum GV5 ranks among the best wines of Priorat. Gratavinum is a small-scale family-run estate that cultivates old vines on Priorat’s famous llicorella soils. The GV5 cuvée combines power, elegance, and a distinct mineral character. The warm 2009 vintage produced perfectly ripe grapes with impressive concentration and excellent balance.
The blend of Garnacha, Cariñena, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah produces a wine with deep fruit aromas, refined tannins, and a long, mineral finish. Thanks to its structure and freshness, this wine has excellent aging potential.
Aroma & taste
The wine opens with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, plums, Mediterranean herbs, graphite, cocoa, espresso, balsamic vinegar, and subtle wood notes. On the palate, it is powerful and velvety smooth with ripe tannins, lively minerality, and an exceptionally long finish.
