The 1997 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port is among one of the most successful vintages of the 1990s. This year produced wines of impressive concentration, structure and finesse, and Taylor reaffirmed its reputation as a leading port house.
In the glass, this port shows a deep ruby color. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, plum and dark chocolate, complemented by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is powerful and full-bodied, with firm but ripe tannins and a long, elegant finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with blue-veined cheeses, dark chocolate desserts or as an impressive finale to a dinner party.
The 1997 vintage was officially declared and is considered one of the best of the decade. Taylor Fladgate produced a wine that combines both power and elegance and lends itself well to further aging. This bottle is a valuable choice for aficionados and collectors.
