The 1997 Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo Vintage Port is among the refined vintage ports of the Douro from the 1990s. Quinta Nova is known for its elegant style and in 1997 created a wine with wonderful balance between fruit expression, power and complexity.
In the glass, this port shows a deep ruby color with slight evolution. The nose is intense and refined with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, fig, cocoa and subtle spices. In the mouth rich and harmonious, with soft tannins, lively acidity and an exceptionally long finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with blue-veined cheeses, chocolate desserts or as an exclusive finale to a dinner party.
The 1997 vintage brought forth particularly elegant vintage ports in the Douro. Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo created a wine with classic structure, finesse and wonderful ageing potential that is drinking beautifully today.
