Buy Tawny Port at Port2Port

Tawny Port is an elegant and complex style of port that is aged for an extended period in wooden barrels. During this aging process, the port develops its characteristic smooth character and aromas of dried fruit, nuts, caramel, and spices.

At Port2Port, you’ll find a carefully selected range of Tawny Ports from the Douro. From approachable Tawny Ports to long-aged 10-, 20-, 30-, 40-, and 50-year-old Tawny Ports from renowned port houses.

What is Tawny Port?

Tawny Port is aged primarily in wooden barrels. Through contact with oxygen, the color gradually changes from a deep red to lighter shades of amber and tawny. At the same time, the fresh fruit aromas become more refined, and typical notes of nuts, dried fruit, caramel, and spices emerge.

The longer port ages, the more complex and mellow its character generally becomes. Tawny ports with age statements are among the best-known examples of this style.

10, 20, 30, 40, and 50-Year-Old Tawny Port

A Tawny with an age designation reflects the character and average age of the wines selected for the blend. As a result, a 20-Year-Old Tawny has a different aging profile than, for example, a 40- or 50-Year-Old Tawny.

Aged Tawny Ports are particularly well-suited for leisurely enjoyment and also make a wonderful gift for a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion.
