Despite the hot and dry conditions of 2017, Marchesi Antinori managed to produce an exceptionally well-balanced wine. The nose opens with aromas of cassis, black cherries, plums, graphite, cedarwood, tobacco, dark chocolate, balsamic vinegar, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is rich, powerful, and perfectly balanced, with velvety tannins, lively acidity, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine at least two hours in advance. Perfect with Florentine bistecca, grilled beef, lamb, game dishes, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
