The 2011 Niepoort Bioma Vinha Velha Vintage Port is an exceptional wine from old, organically farmed vineyards. This vintage belongs to one of the greatest years of the 21st century and demonstrates Niepoort's philosophy: minimal intervention and maximum expression of terroir.
In the glass, this port shows a deep ruby color. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, spice and subtle earthy notes. In the mouth powerful but refined, with lively acidity, elegant tannins and an exceptionally long, precise finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with blue-veined cheeses, dark chocolate desserts or as an exclusive finale to a dinner party.
Niepoort's Bioma Vinha Velha wines come from old vineyards worked according to organic principles. The year 2011 is considered a historic vintage in the Douro. This wine combines power with finesse and is among the purest expressions of vintage port.
