The 2003 Fonseca Vintage Port is among the most impressive vintage ports of the modern Douro. The exceptionally warm 2003 vintage produced powerful and concentrated wines, and Fonseca created a vintage port with enormous richness, intensity and storage potential.
In the glass, this port shows a deep, almost opaque ruby color. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of blackcurrants, plums, dark chocolate, violets and exotic spices. In the mouth rich and powerful, with impressive concentration, firm tannins and an exceptionally long finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with chocolate desserts, blue cheese or as an exclusive finale to a dinner party.
The year 2003 is considered one of the most powerful vintage years of the modern Douro. In this year, Fonseca produced a monumental vintage port that already drinks impressively today but can continue to age for decades.
