The 2021 Château Smith Haut Lafitte ranks among the very best of Pessac-Léognan. As a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, this prestigious château is known worldwide for its refined style, exceptional terroir, and uncompromising commitment to quality. The 2021 vintage produces a classic Bordeaux in which freshness, elegance, and terroir expression come together perfectly.
The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot produces a wine with great aromatic precision, refined tannins, and impressive balance. Thanks to the gravelly soils and meticulous winemaking, Château Smith Haut Lafitte develops a unique combination of power, finesse, and mineral elegance.
The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black currants, plums, violets, graphite, cedar, tobacco, dark chocolate, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with silky-smooth tannins, lively acidity, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about two hours in advance. Perfect with grilled beef, lamb, game, duck, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
The 2021 Château Smith Haut Lafitte has excellent aging potential of more than thirty-five years and will continue to develop for many years to come.
