The 2017 Fonseca Vintage Port is among the absolute best of modern Douro. The 2017 vintage brought forth concentrated and perfectly balanced vintage ports with intense fruit expression, structure and exceptional storage potential. Fonseca combines power with its signature rich and sensual style in this wine.
In the glass, this port shows a deep, almost opaque ruby color. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of blackcurrants, plums, violets, dark chocolate and exotic spices. In the mouth rich and powerful, with impressive concentration, velvety tannins and an exceptionally long finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with chocolate desserts, blue cheese or as an exclusive finale to a dinner party.
2017 is considered one of the greatest modern vintage years in the Douro. Fonseca created a monumental wine with enormous depth, elegance and storage potential that will continue to develop beautifully in the decades to come.
