2014 Gratavinum GV5 from Priorat
A refined Priorat with power and Mediterranean elegance
The 2014 Gratavinum GV5 is a characterful red wine from Priorat. Gratavinum works with old vines on the iconic llicorella soils that give the wine its pronounced minerality and depth. The 2014 vintage combines ripe fruit with lively freshness and excellent balance.
A blend of Garnacha and Cariñena. Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah results in a wine with great complexity and structure. Thanks to aging in French oak barrels, it develops refined spicy notes and a long, mineral finish. The wine is wonderful to drink now but also has excellent aging potential.
Aroma & taste
The wine opens with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, plums, Mediterranean herbs, graphite, cocoa, espresso, balsamic vinegar, and subtle woody notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with ripe tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral finish.
Serving & foodpairing
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about one to two hours in advance. Delicious with grilled beef, lamb, game, Iberian pork, stews, and aged hard cheeses.
Storage potential
The 2014 Gratavinum GV5 has an aging potential of approximately twenty to twenty-five years.
