The 2010 Marchesi Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 5L ranks among the very best in the Italian wine world. Hailing from the prestigious Pian delle Vigne estate, owned by Marchesi Antinori, this wine reflects the purity of 100% Sangiovese and the unique terroir of Montalcino. The name Pian delle Vigne refers to an old railroad station on the estate near Montalcino. Antinori acquired the estate in 1995, thereby extending the family’s centuries-long history of winemaking into the heart of the Brunello region. Brunello is made from Sangiovese, traditionally known locally as Brunello. The 2010 vintage is considered a particularly successful harvest year in Montalcino. This five-liter bottle makes the story even more remarkable: a size you rarely see at the table and one that deserves a special occasion.
