This prestigious wine is produced exclusively from carefully selected Sangiovese grapes sourced from the historic vineyards surrounding the centuries-old Badia a Passignano Abbey. Thanks to the craftsmanship of Marchesi Antinori, this Gran Selezione has been a benchmark for Tuscany for many years.
The 2022 vintage produced healthy and perfectly ripe grapes with excellent aromatic concentration and fresh acidity. After careful aging in oak, the result is a wine of impressive elegance, refined structure, and exceptional balance. This Gran Selezione combines power with finesse and offers impressive aging potential.
The nose opens with aromas of ripe cherries, black currants, violets, graphite, tobacco, cedar, vanilla, cocoa, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine displays a powerful yet refined structure with ripe tannins, lively acidity, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine one to two hours in advance. Delicious with Florentine bistecca, lamb, game dishes, grilled beef, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
