The 2009 Masi Osar Veronese IGT is a special red wine from Veneto, produced by the renowned Masi Agricola winery. This wine is made from the rare Oseleta grape, an ancient indigenous variety known for its deep color, robust structure, and exceptional aromatic intensity. Masi played a key role in the rediscovery of this historic grape variety.
The exceptional 2009 vintage produced perfectly ripe grapes with great concentration and balance. The wine aged for several years in oak, resulting in a complex and elegant style with ripe fruit, spicy notes, and impressive length. Thanks to its robust structure, this wine has excellent aging potential.
The wine opens with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, cocoa, tobacco, black pepper, vanilla, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is powerful and full-bodied, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, refined finish.
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine about one hour in advance. Delicious with grilled beef, game, lamb, stews, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
The 2009 Masi Osar Veronese IGT has an aging potential of approximately twenty-five years.
