2018 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion Magnum (1.5L) from Pessac-Léognan
The prestigious second wine of Château Haut-Brion in Magnum format
The 2018 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion Magnum (1.5L) is the second wine of the legendary Château Haut-Brion, one of Bordeaux’s five Premier Grand Cru Classés. Thanks to the same exceptional terroirs and the same meticulous winemaking process, Le Clarence de Haut-Brion offers an elegant and accessible interpretation of the château’s style. The Magnum format also ensures a slower and more harmonious aging process.
The exceptional 2018 vintage produced wines with impressive concentration, ripe fruit, and perfect balance. The blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc results in a wine with great depth, refined tannins, and impressive aging potential.
Aroma & taste
The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black cherries, plums, violets, cedar, graphite, cocoa, and delicate spices. On the palate, it is powerful and refined, with velvety-soft tannins, lively freshness, and an exceptionally long, elegant finish.
Why Magnum?
A 1.5-liter Magnum ages more slowly than a standard bottle, allowing the wine to retain its freshness longer and develop additional complexity. This makes this size particularly well-suited for long-term storage.
Serving & foodpairing
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about one to two hours in advance. Delicious with beef, lamb, game, duck, and aged cheeses.
Storage potential
The 2018 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion Magnum has an aging potential of more than thirty years.
