The 2013 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore DOC is one of the most prestigious wines from Bolgheri. Hailing from the famous Tenuta Guado al Tasso on the Tuscan coast, this iconic wine combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a small amount of Petit Verdot into an exceptionally elegant and complex blend. The original wooden case containing six bottles makes this release particularly attractive to collectors and investors.
The 2013 vintage is considered one of the finest of the past decade in Bolgheri. A long growing season with ideal weather conditions produced perfectly ripe grapes with impressive aromatic intensity, fresh acidity, and exceptional structure. The result is a wine of tremendous finesse and impressive aging potential.
The nose opens with complex aromas of cassis, black cherries, plums, graphite, cedarwood, tobacco, dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle balsamic notes. On the palate, it is both powerful and refined, with velvety-smooth tannins, perfect balance, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
Serve at 17–18°C and decant the wine at least two hours in advance. Perfect with Florentine bistecca, grilled beef, lamb, game dishes, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses.
The 2013 Guado al Tasso has exceptional aging potential and, under ideal conditions, will continue to develop for decades to come.
