The 2000 Croft Vintage Port is among the great vintage ports of the 2000 vintage. Known for its refined and fruit-driven style, Croft combines intense concentration with elegance and impressive aging potential in this wine.
In the glass, this port shows a deep, almost opaque ruby color. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of blackcurrants, plums, violets, dark chocolate and subtle spices. In the mouth rich and powerful, with silky tannins, lively acidity and an exceptionally long finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with chocolate desserts, blue cheese or as an exclusive finale to a dinner party.
The year 2000 is considered an iconic millennium year for vintage port. Croft created a wine with a wonderful balance of power, elegance and fruit expression that already drinks impressively today but can continue to age for decades.
