Unlike many other Tawny Ports, which are a blend of different vintage years, Colheita Port comes entirely from one specific vintage. Thus, the vintage on the bottle refers to the vintage of the grapes.
Due to the long aging in barrel, Colheita Port develops a refined and complex character with aromas of dried fruits, nuts, caramel and spices.
Many Colheita Ports are aged for decades in wooden barrels before being bottled. During this aging, the wine slowly changes color and develops increasing elegance and depth.
