The 2004 Taylor Fladgate Vargellas Vinha Velha Vintage Port is among Taylor Fladgate's most exclusive ports. This wine is produced from very old vines at Quinta de Vargellas and only released in extremely limited quantities during exceptional years.
In the glass, this port shows a deep, almost opaque ruby color. The nose is exceptionally intense with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, violet, cocoa, spice and subtle mineral notes. In the mouth powerful and concentrated, with impressive tannins, lively acidity and an endless finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Ideal with blue cheese, chocolate desserts or as an exclusive meditation wine.
Vargellas Vinha Velha represents the absolute best of Taylor Fladgate. The grapes come from old vines with very low yields, providing tremendous concentration and complexity. Combining power, finesse and exceptional storage potential, the 2004 vintage is among the most sought-after ports for collectors.
