Saint-Émilion wines

Saint-Émilion is one of the most prestigious wine regions in Bordeaux and is known worldwide for its elegant and complex red wines. Wines from this appellation are made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Franc and combine power with finesse.

An iconic Bordeaux appellation

Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, the vineyards of Saint-Émilion enjoy a unique terroir with limestone and clay soils. This creates wines with a soft structure, ripe fruit aromas and excellent balance.

Many wines bear the appellation Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, indicating stricter production requirements and a higher level of quality.

Flavor profile of Saint-Émilion

Saint-Émilion wines are known for their rich and refined character. Typical aromas are:

  • ripe plums and black cherries
  • cassis and dark fruit
  • spices and cedar wood
  • chocolate and subtle wood tones

Thanks to their structure and balance, these wines are often both accessible young and suitable for long aging.
