The 2022 Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild OWC6 (6 × 0.75L) is the prestigious second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild, one of Bordeaux’s five Premier Grand Cru Classés. The wine is produced according to the same strict quality standards as the Grand Vin and offers an impressive combination of power, elegance, and expression of terroir. The exceptional 2022 vintage ranks among the best in Bordeaux in recent decades. Thanks to perfectly ripe grapes and ideal weather conditions, the wine displays impressive concentration, refined tannins, and exceptional balance. Le Petit Mouton combines the typical Pauillac structure with a more approachable style than the Grand Vin, without sacrificing complexity.
The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black cherries, blueberries, violets, cedar, graphite, cocoa, and delicate spices. On the palate, it is powerful and refined, with silky-smooth tannins, lively freshness, and an exceptionally long, mineral finish.
An Original Wooden Case (OWC6) provides optimal protection for the bottles during transport and long-term storage. For Le Petit Mouton, an original wooden case also increases its collectible value and appeal on the international wine market.
Serve at 16–18°C and decant the wine about one to two hours in advance. Delicious with beef, lamb, game, duck, and aged cheeses.
