Viura, also known as Macabeo in Spain, is a versatile white grape variety widely grown in the Rioja and Catalonia regions. This wine has fresh aromas of citrus, apple and peach, with subtle floral notes and a slight mineral undertone. Viura wines are usually light, refreshing and ideal as an aperitif or paired with light dishes such as fish, salads or goat cheese. The grape is also the basis for many quality Spanish Cava wines.
