Rioja Alavesa is a sub-region within the famous Rioja wine region in Spain, located in the north of the country, close to the Pyrenees. This region is known for its excellent wines, which are characterized by their complex flavors and elegance. Rioja Alavesa produces both red and white wines, but is best known for its full-bodied, fruity reds made from the Tempranillo grape.
